Ms. DeLuna has a distinctive voice, both as a singer and (especially) as a composer, and her ease in front of an audience showed her to be comfortable and in command as a performer. The evening was memorable -even captivating and, in my mind, best demonstrated to me Ms. DeLuna's considerable talents.
Ms. DeLuna is a remarkable person and musician…
Prof. Gregory Beyer
Northern Illinois University
Ms. DeLuna is a wonderfully talented composer whose music has a clarity and originality that is deeply seated in her Brazilian heritage and culture.
I believe that Ms. Alencar has a musical voice that is unique and valuable. Her abilities as a composer and as a teacher would be of great benefit to the cultural scene here in the United States.
Dr. Ana Clotilde Thomé Williams

I invited her to present a workshop on Brazilian Music to my students of Portuguese. If there is a word that best describes her performance in this event the word is “outstanding”. Catina’s presentations on these two occasions in an academic milieu were really remarkable. The students and other attendees were very impressed by her ability to play and her enjoyment to teach. Catina’s performance talks a lot about her engaging personality, her motivated spirit and her excitement in sharing her deep knowledge about Music.
Prof. Jui-Ching Wang
Northern Illinois University
“The lecture and demonstration Catina gave on Brazilian folk and pop music not only introduced our students with the most up-to-date music development in Brazil but also provided them with a fresh insight into the role music has played in shaping Brazilian culture in the 20th century."
Dr. Luciano Tosta

Urbana-Champaign
"Her high competence as a teacher, her skillfulness as a performer, and her solid knowledge as a musician are sure to captivate your students.
Ms. DeLuna brings great theoretical musical knowledge added to considerable practical experience as a musician in Brazil. "
